 Kalpana chawla
 Inspiration:
 Reaching for the stars

1 . How did kalpana's life take shape? Discuss her early life and reaching out to NASA.

ANS : Kalpana Chawla was born on 17 March 1962 in a punjabi Hindu family in karnal, Haryana. She was born in a very conservative society but she broke several traditions to become the first Indian-born female astronaut. She completed her schooling from Tagore Baal Niketan Senior Secondary School, Karnal. Growing up, Chawla went to local flying clubs and watched planes with her father. After earning a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Punjab engineering college , India, Chawla moved to the United States in 1982 and obtained a Master of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1984. She went on to earn a second Master's in 1986 and a PHD in aerospace engineering  in 1988 from the University of Colorado Boulder.

Chawla died on 1 February 2003, in the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster, along with the other six crew members, when Columbia disintegrated over Texas during re-entry into the Earth's atmosphere, shortly before it was scheduled to conclude its 28th mission, STS-107.[24] Her remains were identified along with those of the rest of the crew members and were cremated and scattered at Zion National Park in Utah in accordance with her wishes.

3. Discuss the social barriers and restrictions you have faced to date.

As I kept arts first in my barrier, people say that if I keep arts, no job can be obtained from arts. Society also has pressure from above. And treat the boys strictly. Financially not very good, can't even study in good schools. Despite so many barriers, I gave more importance to my education and my family, so I am not affected by all these barriers.

4. Dose kalpana's life inspire you ? How?

Kalpana Chawla's life gave us a lot of motivation. First of all girls choose medical field but Kalpana Chawla chooses hard way so we should always choose hard way not easy way. Kalpana Chawla's passion for work inspires her to step out of her comfort zone. And Kalpana Chawla also used to do multitasking, so we should also do multitasking. Not only in studying but also all other activities. Although Kalpana Chawla was a great astronomer, she lived down to earth, she did not forget her friends. So we should always be ground to earth. Even at the time of death, she gave the message that everyone's death is certain. Thus we learn a lot from Kalpana Chawla.

Pipasa | India Water Crisis Documentary | Movie Review

Today a documetry film called Pipasa was shown in our college.  The main purpose of which was to save water.  This documentary film is the issue of unit 1 of our compaulsory English. In which the importance of water was explained in a different way.

" Water is the elixir of life,

We need to save it for future.

Use it judiciously, never waste it,

              And together let's prosper "

This documentary film first shows a village in a very dry place of Rajasthan where there is only sand.

In this village, all the women of the house go for many kilometres just to fetch water.  In the beginning of this documentary film, children are making a sand house.  In which they also make tako .But even in that percentage there is no water to fill it.  So there isa lot of problems due to waste in the village.  If they make a well in the village, then salty water comes, so they make small takas which are in  the slope and there are  four four takas together.  If one overflows, the rain water goes into the other tank, thus they have to bear a lot of hardships.

And because their water is not good, their teeth turn yellow.  And a little years stick comes.  Knees and back pains occur. And as the women of the village often fill water, their hands, waist, head etc. get pain due to the load of water.

Thus they suffer a lot due to lack of water.  Women suffer a lot, so we should understand the importance of water.

                Save the water 💧
