Ans. In "A prayer for my daughter" W.B.Yeats first expresses his concern about the world his newborn daughter will face. The poet then compares his daughter to a bird and emphasizes her innocence. He wants her to be protected from the harshness of life. The poet wants his daughter to be beautiful and graceful. Yeats then expresses concern about the influence of men on his daughter. He worries that she might be swayed by flattery or false promises. The poet hopes that she will be strong and wise in her interactions with others. The poet wants his daughter to remain innocent. The poet prays for his daughter to have a strong heart enough to face the challenges. And in the end the poet repeats his request for his daughter. He prays that she is protected from harm, evil influences and the struggles that life can present.
